ConstructionsThe construction of the building is made of steel and is designed with longitudinal and transverse cradles with multiple perforations, with opening along both directions at distance 9.15m and 8.20 m respectively. The floor construction is a reinforced concrete slab moulded over a staying shuttering made of LT40 sheet iron. The slab is connected to the beams by means of NELSON pins. The surrounding walls are designed by MONOWALL polyurethane panels for walls with thickness 80мм. The roof is also designed by finished polyurethane panels MONOROOF FLAGON whose thickness is 80мм. Elevators and EscalatorsThe vertical joints of the building in the commercial halls section are designed by using a panorama elevator which capacity is for 16 people, as well as two climbing escalators. The connection between warehouse compartments at each level is performed by means of two hydraulic freight elevators which hoisting capacity is 1800 kg. per each one. and Air-conditioning Planting - areaWhen applied the present project (1562 sq.m.) we had to cut 41 pieces of trees /28 pieces board-leaved trees, 13 pieces coniferous trees/.
In return we planted 55 new pieces board-leaved and 58 pieces coniferous trees. Part of the existing trees that were not cut became part of the parking area. For this reason they had to be fences in detached places on the covering with the size of a parking lot as it was planned in the design project. The newly used plant species are with different periods of florescence and leaf colouring and this fact guarantees a good aesthetic appearance of the green area during all seasons.
The combination between the different species is considered with the plants height (high- and low-stemmed species) as well as the different periods of florescence. The fruticose groups of plants contain a variety of blooming leaf-falling shrubs like the species Forzitia intermedia, Wiegella florida, etc., as well as the soil covering species Juniperus Sabina, Cotoneaster rubin, etc. Roof planting - ExtensiveNowadays the roof garden is not an excessive luxury; it is a necessity, imposed by the drastic lessening of the green areas in the fast enlarging cities and the worsening microclimate. The effect achieved by the roof covered with plants has multiple positives:
The purely decorative effect, on one hand and improvement of the sanitary-hygiene conditions of the environment on the other hand, which leads to substantial decrease of dust and the concentration of noxious gases in the air, by ionization and augmentation of the oxygen in it.
From ecological point of view the roof garden improves significantly the microclimate in the urban areas. In addition the finished project allowed releasing of 2800 sq.m. of the site to be used for building parking lots. The roof garden, completed as per the present project (2800 sq.m.), represents an extensive and intensive planting of the roof, not to forget to mention use of hardy decorative shrub species and soil covering plant species, which have the ability to regenerate, as well as they don’t need special cares.
The extensive roof planting (1800 sq.m.) has limited options for decoration but on the other hand it has low requirements for plants cares, as well as achieving the least loading of the roof construction during periods of florescence which last for 8 months. From economic point of view this was the most suitable alternate design for roof planting. The intensive roof planting (1000 sq.m.) was performed in an area visited by many people (open air restaurant) with rich variety of plants. In the present project the intensive roof planting was used at the following places – flat roof, covered with grass, perennial flowers, oversized bushed and low-stemmed trees, planted in the soil.
